Sevilla’s Alves finally signs for Barcelona

According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Daniel Alves has finally completed his long awaited move to fellow Spanish club Barcelona in a deal worth around 30 million Euros.

The move is now on the verge of being confirmed with just a few minor details to complete before the transfer can officially be announced by either club.

Barcelona finally persuaded Sevilla to sell after intense meetings between Barcelona directors Txiki Bergiristain and Marc Ingla and Sevilla club president Jose Maria del Nido.

Marca claims that all the deal needs is official confirmation from both clubs, which should be completed in the next few hours, making Alves a Barcelona played before the weekend is over.

Alves, 25, has been chased by a number of top European clubs such as Chelsea and Manchester United, but seems set to now stay in Spain where the full-back has enjoyed a growing reputation as one of the worlds best full-backs.

Alves is currently in the U.S.A with the Brazil squad, but is said to be delighted at news of the move being completed and the Brazilian full-back has always expressed his desire to play for a European giant like Barcelona.
