Handed the chance to make yet another statement and briefly climb into the European spots, a high-flying Shakhtyor will host leading relegation scrappers Belshina on Friday evening.

Starting with the hosts, putting in what was another rampant display last weekend and picking up a 2-0 victory against Slavia, the mood in Shakhtyor camp remains at a season-high. Despite showing some worrying inconsistencies when opening the 2020 campaign, the Yellows have won four of their last five matches across all competitions and are unbeaten over the past five weeks. With their sights firmly set on securing a top-three finish this season, there is no doubt that Head Coach Yuriy Vernydub will be most impressed by his side’s continued displays at the back. Landing another clean sheet over the weekend, Shakhtyor have recorded four top-flight clean sheets on the spin, their best record since April 2019. Shipping just three goals so far this season, Friday’s hosts should be looking to make another statement this week.

As for the visitors, while the mood in Shakhtyor’s camp might be at a continued high, Belshina find themselves in the midst of a real struggle. Already labeled as the leading contender to be hit with an immediate drop back down this season, Eduard Gradoboyev’s men are yet to record a single Premier League so far this year and already find themselves sat five points adrift of safety. Hit with a 1-0 defeat when they last faced off against Friday’s hosts in the Belarusian Cup last season, it should be noted that the Bobruisk outfit have lost each of their last four matchups against Shakhtyor and even more worrying for Gradoboyev’s side, they have failed to record a single strike in any of those defeats.

Bet: Shakhtyor 8/11 to beat Belshina to nil in Friday’s Belarusian Premier League matchup @ Bet 365
