Sheffield United double chance against Hull City 1/2 for Saturday’s Championship showdown

Competition: Championship

Market: Sheffield United double chance

Odds: 1/2 @ 888sport

Looking to make an immediate return to winning ways on Saturday lunchtime, Sheffield United will make the trip to a downbeat Hull when this weekend’s Championship fixtures open up.

Starting with the hosts, putting in what was another toothless display when returning from the international break, Hull find themselves in the midst of a real struggle. Despite making their Championship return over the summer, the Tigers are already tipped as a leading contender to be hit with an immediate League One return. Despite opening the 2021/22 campaign with what was a shock 4-1 romp away at Preston, Grant McCann’s side have really failed to keep up that momentum. Last seen getting hit with a deserved 2-0 defeat at the hands of Blackburn on the road, Hull have failed to win any of their last seven straight matchups across all formats, a run that stems back to the start of August. Gaining a real reputation for their continued issues in front of goal, it should also be noted that this weekend’s hosts have failed to find the net in their last six contests on the spin.

As for the visitors, left heartbroken after eventually having to settle for a 2-2 draw against Preston on home soil in midweek, there is no doubt that Sheffield United should be smelling a golden chance here. Just about managing to find their feet after what was a hugely worrying start to the 2021/22 campaign, the Blades are at least unbeaten in their last four matchups across all formats. Still trying to fully find their feet under new boss Slaviša Jokanović, the former Premier League outfit did manage to pick up a thumping 6-2 romp against Peterborough last weekend. With Wolves loanee Morgan Gibbs-White making an immediate impact at Bramall Lane and finding the net in back-to-back matchups, it should also be noted that Saturday’s guests landed a 3-0 victory against Hull when the two sides last faced off back in 2019. Given the Tigers’ continued issues, a United double chance appear at attractive odds.
