Silva eyes Slimani reunion

Watford are lining up a January move for out-of-favour Leicester City forward Islam Slimani, according to the Mirror.

Hornets manager Marco Silva worked with the Algeria international at Sporting Lisbon and is eyeing a reunion as he looks to add depth to his increasingly impressive squad.

Slimani moved to the King Power Stadium fifteen months ago but has failed to recreate the form he showed in Portugal, managing just twelve goals in forty appearances in all competitions.

He has started just one Premier League game this campaign, with all four of his goals since the summer coming in the EFL Cup.

Internationally he has scored twenty-seven goals in fifty-six appearances for his country including four in the recent World Cup qualifying campaign though Rabah Madjer’s side failed to book their place at Russia for next summer.

Watford host Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday afternoon with the home win priced at 4/1.
