Once again turning our attention to this weekend’s Belarusian Premier League fixtures, Slavia Mozyr will look to extend on their eye-catching record at the Stadyen Junatsva when they host a struggling FC Minsk on Saturday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, while Slavia Mozyr may have been disappointed to have left Isloch empty-handed last weekend, the mood in their camp should still be at a high. Picking up a 1-0 win against Europa League outfit BATE Borisov and within touching distance of booking their spot in the final of this year’s Belarusian Cup, Mihail Martsinovich’s men have lost just one of their last five matchups across all formats and also hold an eye-catching record in front of their own supporters. Shipping just a single goal at the Stadyen Junatsva in any of their last six appearances on home soil, the Red and Blacks are also unbeaten in Mozyr since the middle of October. Hoping to mount their own shock European charge this season, there is no doubt that Slavia will be looking to make a return to winning ways on Saturday afternoon.

As for the visitors, despite showing some real signs of promise when opening the new campaign thanks to back-to-back wins against local rivals Dinamo Minsk and top-flight returners Belshina, Andrey Razin’s side have come crashing back down to earth in dramatic fashion. Hit with a 1-0 defeat against Ruh Brest last time out, the Whites have lost each of their last three Premier League matches and have shown some real issues in the final third. Failing to find the net in any of their previous defeats, Minsk are in the midst of their worst attacking rut since April 2019. Despite picking up a close-fought 1-0 win when they hosted Slavia back in September, it should be noted that Minsk do hold a worrying record at the Stadyen Junatsva. Including a dramatic 4-3 loss on the road last season, Saturday’s guests have not landed a win in Mozyr since 2008.
