Smalling to stay in Roma permanently?

According to a recent report from Corriere della Sarra, Chris Smalling’s agent has recently made the trip over to Italy in order to hold talks with Roma over a potentially permanent switch to the Serie A club. It’s been well documented that Smalling’s loan spell with Roma from Manchester United has gone incredibly well, to the point where most fans are shocked that this is the same man who hardly lit the sky up with his performances for the Red Devils. 

Smalling has been consistently able to surprise and please fans around the world in equal measure since making his debut, and now, it’s all about figuring out what he wants. The world is his oyster and while a return to Old Trafford in order to try and prove himself is going to be tempting, the man himself clearly knows just how well he’s been playing and will likely continue to play.
