Spurs to pay £15million for England striker

According to Daily Mail, West Ham’s 24-year-old striker, Dean Ashton, is expected to move to neighbors and city rivals Tottenham Hotspur this summmer.

West Ham has placed a £15million price tag on the player, who joined the Hammers in a £7.25million deal in 2006 from Norwich.

The latest rumours say that Spurs striker Dimitar Berbatov will join Spanish champions Real Madrid this summer, and Ashton is set to replace him.

Ashton has yet to make a full international debut for England’s senior squad, and was struck with injury twice the last two times he was selected. It looks like he will be getting his chance now, when England manager Fabio Capello has named Ashton to be included in a 30-man squad for the friendlies against the United States and Trinidad & Tobago later this month

“Now Ashton tops the Spurs shopping list as they look for a replacement for Real Madrid-bound Dimitar Berbatov.”

You’d think they were getting hand-outs from agents who want to talk up their players around contract negotiation time…………hhmmmmn?

Absolute rubbish. This is just another story to fill column inches that was probably started by bloggers thinking of something to keep their blogs fresh.

Never happen and stuff like this only ruins the reputation of the club.
