Inter Milan coach Andrea Stramaccioni says taking the job with the Serie A giants has changed his life.

The 37-year-old took over at San Siro a year ago this week, and says being in charge of the club is a dream come true for him.

“It changed my life. Now we all know each other a bit more. It’s the life of a simple young man that changed drastically,” Stramaccioni told Inter Channel.

“Sometimes I still can’t believe it because it’s a dream for me to be experiencing this job on this stage in the first person.

“I’m very happy. I have to thank everyone around me and all the Nerazzurri players and staff. I can’t deny that the first one is when I heard the president’s voice telling me how he had decided to move forward with me at the helm.

“Time comes to a standstill in a moment like that, because you think to yourself, ‘I’m coaching Inter’. You feel emotion, pride, and even a bit of fear over whether you’ll be up to it or not.

“When it comes to other moments I prefer to remember the happy ones, the things that have gone well with these lads, like the win in the first derby.

“That will always remain in my memory. Seeing a packed San Siro coloured blue and black, and such a strong AC Milan side, even if they didn’t win the league. It was an incredible rush.

“Then the win in Turin against a Juventus side that hadn’t lost at home for 50 games. Inter stun

ned the Juventus Stadium and we got to see our fans celebrating in their section as the rest of the stadium emptied out. These are the three most fantastic moments.”

Inter Milan face Juventus on Saturday and Stramaccioni spoke about the importance of winning the encounter.

“This game is absolutely vital to us, both in terms of the importance for the standings as well as for how much it means to us. We’ll tackle it giving even more than our all, giving 101 percent,” he said.

“We’re going to work hard this week and be ready for kick-off in a full San Siro.”
