Sunderland eye Teixeira move

Sunderland have been linked with a move for former Liverpool midfielder Jaoa Teixeira, according to the Express.

The twenty-three year old moved to Porto in the summer having made just a handful of appearances for the Merseyside club, scoring just once.

During his time at Anfield, he had loan spells with both Barnsley and Brighton and Hove Albion, playing for the latter thirty-five times in the 2014/15 campaign, netting for them six times.

He is yet to make an appearance for his new club, so a return to the English top flight could well be on the cards with Sunderland looking to strengthen after a less than impressive start under new manager David Moyes.

The Black Cats lost at home to Crystal Palace on Saturday, a result which saw them drop to the bottom of the table and they can now be backed at a price of 8/11 to be relegated.
