Swansea 10/11 to beat Huddersfield in Saturday’s Championship showdown

Competition: Championship

Market: Swansea win

Odds: 10/11 @ 888sport

Hoping to carry on from where they left off earlier in the month, Swansea will welcome Huddersfield to the Liberty on Saturday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, while Swansea might have been left heartbroken after their play-off defeat over the summer, Steve Cooper’s men appear to have fully put that behind them. Really impressing many before heading into the international break, the Whites were last seen picking up a deserved 2-1 victory against fellow top-six hopefuls Millwall earlier in the month and they’re one of just a handful of Championship sides who are yet to taste defeat since opening the 2020/2021 campaign. Still enjoying an eye-catching run in front of goal, despite losing last year’s top scorer Rhian Brewster over the summer, Cooper has been vocal about his side’s recent continued resolve at the back. While the Lions might have ended their run last time out, Swansea have shipped just a single goal in any of their opening four appearances and will be confident of laying down another marker in South Wales this weekend.

As for the visitors, while Huddersfield might have managed to snatch a 96th-minute equalizer away at Rotherham last time out and now collected four points over back-to-back appearances, the Terriers have struggled to find their feet under new boss Carlos Corberan. Opening the New Year with defeats against Brentford and Norwich, fans around West Yorkshire have been vocal about their side’s continued issues in the final third and they should face another stern test on their travels this weekend. Signing off last year’s campaign with a thumping 4-1 loss away against Millwall over the summer, it should also be noted that continuing on from last season’s interrupted campaign, Huddersfield have won just one of their last 11 Championship matchups on the road. Hit with a 3-1 defeat when they last faced off against Swansea back in February, we’re backing a similar away outcome on Saturday afternoon.
