Swansea 2/1 to beat Blackburn in Tuesday’s Championship showdown

Competition: Championship

Market: Swansea win

Odds: 2/1 @ 888sport

Smelling a real chance to extend on their recent purple patch, Swansea will make the trip to Ewood Park when they face off against Blackburn on Tuesday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Blackburn might have managed to pick up a much-welcomed 2-0 win away at Birmingham when opening 2021, the Rovers are still drastically seeking some stability. Slipping away from the play-off spots and having to settle for a 1-1 draw against fellow strugglers Stoke over the weekend, Tony Mowbray’s men have recorded just a pair of wins in their last 10 matchups across all formats, a run that stems back to December 2nd. With their recent issues highlighted by a shock 1-0 loss against League One outfit Doncaster on FA Cup duties last week, Blackburn should also be concerned by their most recent meeting against the promotion chasers. Hit with a deserved 2-0 defeat when they made the trip to South Wales back in October, Mowbray’s side should face another stern test at Ewood Park in midweek.

As for the visitors, while Blackburn might have seen their play-off ambitions take a dent over the past month, Swansea should find the mood in their camp at a real high. Last seen over the weekend when putting in another eye-catching display on their travels, the Whites collected a 2-0 victory against a high-flying Barnsley and Steve Cooper’s men are seen as a leading contender in the automatic promotion hunt. Skyrocketing their way into the top-two, Swansea are enjoying a six-match unbeaten run across all competitions, winning five of those appearances. Along with booking their spot in the fourth-round of this year’s FA Cup, it should also be noted that they picked up a very impressive 2-1 win against fellow automatic chasers Watford when opening 2021. With a real chance to cash in on their extended purple patch, we’re backing an away win in midweek.
