Newcastle complete Sandro Tonali deal

Newcastle have completed and confirmed the transfer of Sandro Tonali from AC Milan.

The Italy international leaves the Serie A with 130 appearances by the age of 23, a notable top-level experience for such a young age. He played in all 12 Champions League games last season as the Rossoneri reached the semifinal of UEFA’s elite competition.

The Magpies have agreed to pay a fee of €70 million, including add-ons, for the midfielder whose arrival to St. James’ Park is expected to provide more freedom for Bruno Guimaraes.

Thiago Alcantara to leave Liverpool?

Thiago Alcantara has done what most people these days consider an indication of an impending transfer – he has removed his club Liverpool from the bio on his Instagram account.

Naturally, that has prompted plenty of speculation about his future, particularly with Liverpool believed to be trying to add another midfielder after signing Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.

The 32-year-old Spaniard has endured a torrid time at Anfield with injuries coming one after another, and the Merseysiders allowing him to leave as part of their midfield rebuild certainly shouldn’t be ruled out at this point.

Gvardiol wants Man City move

Manchester City are closing in on the signing of Josko Gvardiol from RB Leipzig after Max Eberl, the Bundesliga club’s sporting director, revealed the Croatia international had expressed a desire to join the 2022/23 treble winners.

The personal terms between Gvardiol and City have already been agreed, according to reports, but City will have to pay Leipzig a hefty fee to secure his services. Leipzig are reluctant to part ways with the 20-year-old defender, having already lost the likes of Szoboszlai to Liverpool, Christopher Nkunku to Chelsea, and Konrad Laimer to Bayern Munich.

Brighton sign Anderlecht goalkeeper Verbruggen

Brighton and Hove Albion have completed and confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen from Anderlecht. The Premier League side have reportedly agreed to pay a fee of €20 million to secure the services of the 20-year-old shot-stopper, who has already played for the senior Netherlands team.

Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi has expressed satisfaction about the transfer being done, as well as confidence in the ability of his new goalkeeper to adapt to the tasks awaiting him at the Amex Stadium next season.

Verbruggen has signed a five-year contract with the Seagulls.

Meanwhile, defender Joel Veltman has signed a new two-year deal with the club.
