The Premier League transfers that could go down to deadline day

While the Premier League’s return might be inching closer, teams from up and down the country are still working flat out behind the scenes in an attempt to bolster their squads this summer.

Already watching clubs like Chelsea break the bank over the past month, all eyes will firmly be on deadline day and what could be a night that involves some of the Premier League’s biggest names.

So, with the transfer window slamming shut on October 5th, who are the superstars who could be in for a late switch next month?

Jack Grealish – Aston Villa

Earning his first call-up to Gareth Southgate’s England squad for their Nations League opener out in Iceland on Saturday evening, Jack Grealish is a name that has been continuously linked with a potential move away from Aston Villa this summer.

Playing what was a vital role in Villa’s great escape and managing to extend on their Premier League status on the final weekend, Manchester United have remained a long term admirer of the 24-year-old and it is believed that Grealish would be more than welcoming of the chance to play Champions League football.

While Villa might have reportedly stuck a £70million price tag on their skipper, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side could hold a potential bargaining chip if they’re serious about securing Grealish’s signature before the window slams shut next month.

With Pepe Reina securing a move back to Italy last week, The Daily Mail are reporting that Villa are interested in a potential deal for United keeper Sergio whose future at Old Trafford appears to be over with Dean Henderson returning to the club on a bumper new contract.

With it appearing that United missed the chance to secure a deal for Jadon Sancho this summer, could Grealish be seen as a deadline day alternative?

Wilfried Zaha – Crystal Palace

While Wilfried Zaha might have continued to shine during Crystal Palace’s pre-season preparations this summer, it is no secret that the pacey winger sees his future away from Selhurst Park and is desperate to make the next step before he turns 28 later in the year.

Although the Ivory Coast international might have felt that he could have secured a move to Arsenal last summer, nobody was willing to match the Eagles’ £80million valuation and Zaha begrudgingly extend his stay in South London.

However, 12 months on and with it reported that Roy Hodgson’s side could be willing to cash in on their prized asset if the right deal can be made, The Daily Mail are reporting that Palace could be willing to sell for as little as £30million this summer.

Bringing in QPR star Eberechi Eze in a £20million deal last week, the arrival of the 22-year-old is seen as a replacement for Zaha, rather than someone to play alongside the former Manchester United youngster.

Desperate to play Champions League football next season, Sky Sports are reporting that Zaha won’t be short of options before the window closes on October 5th.

With the chance to go and ply his trade on foreign soil, it is believed that PSG, Borussia Dortmund and Monaco are all thought to be interested in striking a late cut-price deal with Palace.

However, it should also be noted that the Gunners are currently priced at 5/2 with 888sport to clinch his signature this summer, the bookies’ favourite.

Adama Traore – Wolves

Arguably cementing his spot as the Premier League’s breakout star last season, Adama Traore really burst onto the scene and suddenly finds himself as one of the most sort after wingers across the Premier League.

Forming a stellar partnership with Raul Jiminez, the former Barcelona starlet reportedly has a long list of admirers from across the continent and it has been suggested that Wolves would be willing to listen to offers.

Signing with Nuno Espírito Santo’s side in 2018 for a then club-record fee of £18million from Middlesbrough, The Mirror are reporting that both Liverpool and Manchester City have expressed their interests in the 24-year-old.

While Traore might still have three years remaining on his current deal at Molineux, it has been suggested that Wolves have identified a potential replacement if the Spaniard does make a sudden move away from the Midlands on deadline day.

Sky Sports reported last week that the Oranges are interested in a potential deal for Sevilla winger Lucas Ocampos after watching the 26-year-old help knock them out of the Europa League in Germany last month.
