Although there might be plenty of speculation surrounding Romelu Lukaku‘s potential move to Napoli, it appears that a number of Italy’s elite could be heading in the opposite direction.

While it might appear that Nigerian marksmen Victor Osimhen will not be completing a blockbuster move to Chelsea ahead of the 2024/25 campaign, many of Serie A’s top stars are attracting plenty of Premier League interest.

Ahead of what looks set to be another frantic summer transfer window, we have taken a look at some of the top Serie A talent that could be heading for the Premier League.

Joshua Zirkzee – Bologna

Watching Bologna spring an almighty upset last season as they stormed their way to a famous Champions League ticket, the Greyhounds have continued to receive a string of plaudits from across the continent.

Gaining a reputation for their free-flowing approach under Thiago Motta’s guidance, a huge part of Bologna’s success was thanks to the efforts of attacking talisman Joshua Zirkzee.

Notching 11 Serie A goals last season and registering a further four assists, the one-time Bayern Munich starlet remains linked with a string of Europe’s elite this summer.

With it now confirmed that Motta will be taking over the reigns at Juventus ahead of the 2024/25 campaign, there are plenty of suggestions that Zirkzee could be following Motta out of the Bologna exit.

However, although it might have been reported over the past few days that Italian giants AC Milan are currently leading the race to snap up in the Dutch international, Sky Sports are suggesting that both Arsenal and Manchester United are closely monitoring the situation.

Federico Chiesa – Juventus

While Juventus might have secured a much-needed Champions League return last season, the Old Lady certainly limped their way over the finishing line and come under a huge amount of scrutiny.

With the hierarchy in Turin electing to sack Massimiliano Allegri last month, many are expecting what will be a hectic summer behind the scenes at the Allianz as Motta gets a new era underway.

Still dealing with some reported financial issues behind the scenes, it has been suggested that the Italian icons have put a number of their biggest first-team superstars in the shopping window.

Now officially entering the final 12 months of his current deal with the former Serie A champions, it has been heavily reported over the past week that Federico Chiesa could be allowed to leave Turin for a deal as little as £40million.

With it reported over the past few days that the former Fiorentina starlet has no interest in putting pen to paper on a new deal with the Old Lady, there are suggestions that Liverpool are a long-term admirer and are weighing up a summer swoop.

Albert Gudmundsson – Genoa

While Genoa might have eventually fallen short in their bid to claim a top-half finish among Italy’s elite last season, the Griffins did receive plenty of plaudits and suffered just a pair of defeats from any of their final 10 Serie A appearances.

Signing off the 2023/24 campaign with a stellar 2-0 victory against Champions League returners Bologna, Genoa’s attacking talisman is certainly attracting plenty of reported Premier League interest.

Enjoying what was a breakout campaign last season, Albert Gudmundsson notched 14 Serie A goals and has quickly gained a reputation as one of Italy’s ultimate marksmen.

Only finishing behind the quartet of Osimhen, Olivier Giroud, Dusan Vlahovic and Lautaro Martinez in the race for this season’s Golden Boot, the 26-year-old certainly appears to be a man in demand during this summer’s transfer market.

Although it might have been suggested that Inter Milan are weighing up a potential move for the Iceland international, it has been reported that Tottenham are closely monitoring proceedings.
