Tomori heading to Everton on loan

According to a recent report from ESPN, Everton are set to secure the loan signing of Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori.

The 22-year-old signed a new contract with the Blues last year, but given the kind of competition he’ll be facing if he stays at Stamford Bridge this season, it doesn’t appear as if he’s going to take his chances.

He will be joining on a season-long loan if it does go through which adds to the Toffees’ centre-back options.

Tomori is one of many Chelsea players that hasn’t really been able to get a foothold in the first team over the course of the last few years, to the point where it seems pretty clear what direction Frank Lampard is heading in with his future. There’s nothing wrong with sending him off to a Premier League rival, either, especially with someone like Carlo Ancelotti being at the helm at Goodison Park.
