Tottenham Hotspur eye Watford striker Troy Deeney

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Troy Deeney on loan from Watford in the summer transfer window, according to The Daily Mail. It has been reported that the striker has been offered to Spurs, with head coach Jose Mourinho interested in bringing the 32-year-old to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the 2020-21 campaign.

Spurs have spoken about a season-long loan deal for Deeney, but the veteran striker has just one year left on his current contract at Watford. The Hornets will play in the Championship next season after getting relegated from the Premier League, and one suspects that they would prefer to sell the striker and get some transfer fee instead of sending him out on loan.

With Troy Parrott having joined Millwall on a loan already this summer, Harry Kane is the only out-and-out striker in the current Tottenham squad. The North London outfit have to find another player to play upfront, as they cannot rely on Harry Kane to do it all on his own next season.
