Trippier hits out over Spurs exit

“I spoke to the manager about his plans and I didn’t get a ‘yes’ and I didn’t get a ‘no’ – so you get the impression.

“The manager didn’t say he wanted to move me on and I tried to speak to the chairman about it.

“It’s not nice when you know the club want to sell you. I heard rumours about them selling me and it’s not nice but it happens and it’s football.”

Those are the words of former Tottenham Hotspur defender Kieran Trippier, who has made it evidently clear that he wasn’t overly pleased with his treatment in the final few weeks of his time in North London.

Trippier completed a multi-million pound move over to Spanish club Atletico Madrid, and in the process, it would seem as if he wasn’t given all too much consultation regarding what was going to be in his future once last season had come to an end.
