Trippier to Manchester United = over?

According to a recent report from The Times, Manchester United are set to bring an end to their interest in Atletico Madrid star Kieran Trippier.

The Englishman had been heavily linked with a switch to Old Trafford throughout the course of the summer transfer window but it now seems as if the proposed move is off the cards. Atletico wanted at least €50 million to make it happen but instead of doing so, they’ll opt to bring Diogo Dalot back into the mix so that he can challenge Aaron Wan-Bissaka for a place in the starting XI next season.

Trippier had a strong campaign in 2020/21 for Atletico and there’s understandably been significant interest in bringing him back to England. Of course, for that to happen, United would need to stump up a lot of cash – something they’ve already done in the name of bringing Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane over to Manchester.
