Dutch side FC Twente hope to surprise all of Europe when they face English giants Arsenal on Wednesday.

The two sides face off for the first leg in the third preliminary round of the UEFA Champions League, with Arsenal as absolute favorites. The Londoners have been given chances of up to 1.50 by bookmakers, while Twente’s most positive odds have been set to 7.00.

But Englishman Steve McClaren, who recently made a move to Twente, promised fans that the side would battle for a good outcome.

“We want to deliver a good result so we’ll have something to play for at Emirates Stadium in two weeks from now,” said the manager.

McClaren stresses the importance of confidence, which according to him might be the key in giving the Gunners some difficulties.

Twente’s chances did increase slightly on Tuesday as it turned out that both Cesc Fabregas and Kolo Toure will miss the match due to injury.

The first leg clash will be played at Enschede’s Arke Stadium and is scheduled to start at 20:45 local time.
