Udinese sign Cincinnati striker Brenner

Udinese have officially confirmed the signing of Brenner Souza da Silva from FC Cincinnati. The 23-year-old Brazilian attacker will move to the Stadio Friuli on July 1st, and the transfer will cost Udinese a base fee of €10 million, with add-ons and a sell-on percentage to come on top of that.

Born in the city of Cuiaba in Brazil, Brenner took his first football steps at Sao Paolo, where he rose through the youth ranks to make a total of 56 senior appearances and score 24 goals. His loan move to Fluminense which lasted from May to December 2019 didn’t quite work out, as he played only five games before returning to the parent club, and in February 2021, Cincinnati paid just under €12m to take him to the MLS.

In 2023, Brenner has so far played seven games and scored once, helping his team share the top spot in the Eastern Conference with the same tally as New England.

“Udinese Calcio is pleased to announce the signing of Brenner Souza da Silva,” the official statement reads.

“The Brazilian striker was signed by FC Cincinnati outright and has signed a contract with the black-and-whites until June 30, 2028.”
