Under 2.5 goals at Crystal Palace vs West Ham 10/11 for Thursday’s Premier League matchup

Competition: Premier League

Market: Under 2.5 goals

Odds: 10/11 @ Bet 365

In a Boxing Day London derby, Crystal Palace will welcome West Ham to Selhurst Park on Thursday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, hit with a late 1-0 defeat away at Newcastle last weekend, Crystal Palace’s continued issues in the final third are quickly becoming a growing concern to Head Coach Roy Hodgson. Despite impressing in their performances in December, the one-time England boss has seen his side score just 15 goals this season, the second-worst return of any side in the top-flight. Recording just a single strike in almost 300 minutes of action, the Eagles have also shown some worrying inconsistencies in South London. Palace have won just one of their last five matches on home soil, a run that stems back to the 29th of September.

As for the visitors, picking up a 1-0 win away at Southampton last time out in a fixture described as a December six-pointer, West Ham have a growing reputation for being an away day outfit. While underfire boss Manuel Pellegrini might see his side continuing to struggle in East London, the Hammers have won two of their last three matches on the road, a run that also saw them pinch a 1-0 win over Chelsea earlier in the month. However, failing to bag more than a single strike in five of their last six appearances, Thursday’s matchup at Selhurst Park has all the makings of what could be a cagey encounter.
