United quartet set for new deals

Manchester United are preparing to offer new, long term deals to David De Gea, Phil Jones, Tom Cleverley and Danny Welbeck, according to the Express.

Cleverley has just fourteen months remaining on his current contract, while De Gea, Jones and Welbeck still have two years remaining on their respective deals.

The quartet, who have an average age of twenty-two and a half and are each pushing for a place at this summer’s World Cup finals, have made nearly a hundred Premier League appearances between them so far this season .

The Premier League champions travel to Newcastle United on Saturday afternoon looking to get three points that will see them leapfrog Tottenham Hotspur into sixth place, and move them to within seven points of the top-four.

United, who somewhat surprisingly boast the best away record in the division, can be backed at a price of 19/20 to win at St James’ Park.
