United set to miss out on Koke

Manchester United look set to be disappointed in their pursuit of Atletico Madrid’s Koke, according to TalkSport.

The Spain U21 international’s goal against Barcelona on Wednesday evening was enough to fire his side into the last four of this season’s Champions League, and his elevated status in Diego Simeone’s side could, according to the man himself, make it difficult for him to move on.

Koke – full name Jorge Resurreccion Merodio – has scored six goals in forty-nine appearances in all competitions so far this season and is one of a number of players to be linked with a summer move to Old Trafford as David Moyes looks to rebuild his under-performing squad.

Atleti currently sit on top of La Liga, and having been drawn against Chelsea in the semi-finals are, at 4.5 (7/2), third favourites behind Bayern Munich and neighbours Real to lift the trophy at Benfica’s Estadio da Luz on May 24th.
