Central Coast Mariners have confirmed that they’ve given legendary Olympic sprinter Usain Bolt an indefinite training period with the club. The 31-year-old has made no secret of his desire to play professional football, and whilst this is no guarantee of a long-term contract, this does seem to indicate that there’s a chance he’ll be able to live out his dream.

Bolt has been attempting to break into the world of football for a few years now, ever since he began winding down his track career. The superstar retired from the sport at the top of his game and wants to try and reach the top in another field.

The decision to even entertain the idea of giving him a contract has caused a great deal of controversy amongst some sections of the game, with many ‘experts’ believing that it’s not right for him to be given an opportunity like this based primarily on his notability.
