Valverde didn’t want Malcom

According to France Football, Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde never asked the club to sign Malcom in a shocking recent revelation. The winger hasn’t really featured ever since arriving from Bordeaux back in the summer, with many considering it to be one of the most baffling transfers in recent history.

Roma reportedly thought they had a deal in place for Malcom until Barca swept in at the last minute, which is seeming like more and more of a petty move as the weeks go on. Director of football Eric Abidal and sporting director Pep Segura were the ones who apparently had the most invested interest in bringing him to the club, whereas Valverde was focused on other things.

Barcelona have had a solid start to the campaign both domestically and in European competition, but even with all of that, it’d be interesting to see how Malcom fares if he was to be given a chance.
