Villa and Leeds in Saville tussle

Aston Villa and Leeds United are ready to battle for the services of Millwall midfielder George Saville, according to the Mail Online.

Having had loan spells at The Den in both the 2012/13 and 2015/16 campaigns the twenty-five-year old signed permanently from Wolverhampton Wanderers last summer.

He racked up forty-five appearances in all competitions scoring ten goals – a tally that saw finish as joint top scorer with forward Lee Gregory.

Saville began his career with Chelsea but signed for Wolverhampton Wanderers before making a single appearance for the Blues.

He played fifty league games for Wolves and has also turned out for Brentford and Bristol City.

Internationally, Saville has been capped five times for Northern Ireland having made his debut in a 3-1 World Cup qualifying defeat to Germany last October.

Millwall began the campaign with a 2-2 draw with Middlesbrough though they were two up until the eighty-seventh minute.
