Odds: 4/7 @ Bet 365

Once again turning our attention to the midweek Nicaraguan Premier League fixtures, Walter Ferretti will be looking to continue on their glittering home record when they host Real Madriz in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Starting with the hosts, while Walter Ferretti might be continuing to show some worrying issues on the road, the Red and Blacks did manage to shock many with a 1-0 win against title contenders Real Estelí earlier in the week. Now climbing up to fourth and in pole position to secure a play-off finish this year, there is no doubt that Head Coach Flavio Da Silva will be growing more impressed by his side’s eye-catching performances in front of their own supporters. Including what was a season-best display and a stunning 7-0 romp against fellow top-six hopefuls Chinandega last month, Ferretti’s Brazilian boss has seen his side collect nine points out of a possible 12 on home soil. With their sole home defeat over the past month coming against league leaders and defending champions Managua, Thursday’s hosts should be confident of making it three home wins on the bounce in midweek.

As for the visitors, while Real Madriz may have managed to snatch a point off of Managua last week and lost just one of their last four appearances, the Whites have continued to show what has been some glaring issues on the road. Including a shock 2-1 defeat against rock-bottom Deportivo Las Sabanas when opening April, Los Merengues have lost each of their last six consecutive matchups on their travels. Now sat four points adrift of the play-off positions and also suffering 4-0 and 5-1 defeats away at the likes of Real Estelí and UNAN Managua on their woeful away record, Luís Eduardo Montaño’s men could be in for yet another overwhelming test in midweek. Hit with a 2-1 defeat when they last faced off against Walter Ferretti last month, we’re backing a similar outcome in the early hours of Thursday morning.
