Werner ‘proud’ of Liverpool links

“I know that Liverpool is the best team at the moment in the world,” Werner said. “When you’re linked with that team it makes me very proud. 

“It’s a pleasure but I know that Liverpool have a lot of good players and I have to improve myself, to learn much more things to get on this level to play there.” 

As you can see those are the words of RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner who has confirmed that he is proud to have been linked with a move to Champions League holders Liverpool. Werner was speaking in the aftermath of his side’s first leg win over Tottenham Hotspur, which they were able to get courtesy of his second half penalty.

Werner has been linked with a move away from Leipzig for quite some time now, and it would appear as if he’s starting to strongly consider the possibility of heading to Anfield.
