West Brom and Derby interested in Manchester United’s Phil Jones

West Bromwich Albion and Derby County are interested in signing Phil Jones from Manchester United in the January transfer window, according to Eurosport. It has been reported that Newcastle United have also been making checks on the England international defender.

Sam Allardyce has been appointed the new manager of West Brom, who are struggling for survival in the Premier League and need defensively reinforcements. Jones knows Derby interim manager Rooney, having played with his compatriot at United. The Rams are third from bottom in the Championship table at the moment with 16 points from 19 matches, while West Brom currently find themselves second from bottom in the Premier League table with seven points from 14 games.

Jones has not made a single competitive appearance for United so far this season. During the 2019-20 campaign, the 28-year-old central defender made two appearances in the Premier League and played thrice in the Europa League for the Red Devils, according to WhoScored.
