West Bromwich Albion set to sign Cedric Kipre

West Bromwich Albion are set to sign Cedric Kipre from Wigan Athletic in the summer transfer window, according to The Sun. It has been reported by the British tabloid that Wigan have accepted an offer of £1 million for the 23-year-old defender.

Kipre will now agree personal terms with West Brom, who wanted to sign Shane Duffy from Brighton and Hove Albion but the Republic of Ireland international is off to Scottish Premiership giants Celtic on a season-long loan deal. The Latics will play in League One next season after getting relegated from the Championship, and they are also in administration.

West Brom will feature in the Premier League during the 2020-21 campaign after winning automatic promotion from the Championship at the end of last season. Kipre, who is also claimed to have had an offer from Blackburn Rovers, is 23 years of age and will make manager Slaven Blic’s side defensively better.
