West Ham United are confident of signing Jesse Lingard from Premier League rivals Manchester United in the summer transfer window, according to Football Insider. Lingard spent the second half of last season on loan at West Ham from and helped the Hammers earn a place in the Europa League.
Lingard scored nine goals and gave four assists in 16 Premier League appearances for the Hammers during his loan spell at London Stadium in the second half of last season. The 28-year-old, who can also operate as a winger, has played four minutes in the Premier League for United so far this campaign.
West Ham have held discussions with United and Lingard’s camp behind the scenes, and the London club are now confident of getting a deal done before the summer transfer window closes next week.
