With the FA Cup making its return on Friday night, we have an all Premier League showdown on our hands when Wolves welcome Crystal Palace to Molineux.

Starting with the hosts, after throwing away the lead in what was worrying fashion away at relegation scrappers Brighton last weekend, Wolves are a squad who are really seeking some stability. Eventually having to settle for what was a dramatic 3-3 draw at the Amex, Nuno Espírito Santo’s men have slipped down to 13th in the table and they have collected just a pair of points from their last four Premier League matchups. However, picking up back-to-back 2-0 victories against Friday’s guests, including a win in the Midlands back in October, Wolves should at least be boosted by their recent successes on home soil. Along with picking up that hugely impressive 2-1 victory against Chelsea last month, Santo’s side also secured a 1-1 draw against Tottenham in their last appearance at Molineux. Losing just a single matchup in the Midlands since September 21st, the Oranges should be confident of extending their FA Cup adventure this week.

As for the visitors, after picking up a much-welcomed 2-0 victory against a Sheffield United side in the midst of a Premier League nightmare last weekend, Crystal Palace will be desperate to build off of that result. While Roy Hodgson’s men might have brought an end to their five-match winless run at Selhurst Park, they are still looking to put last month’s 7-0 drumming against Liverpool fully behind them. Once again gaining a reputation this season for their struggles in the final third, it should also be noted that Palace have shown some extended issues outside of South London. Including what turned into a 3-0 defeat away at Aston Villa in their last contest on the road, the former England boss has seen his men win just one of their last five Premier League fixtures away from the capital. Also suffering a 2-0 loss against Wolves on that run, we’re backing a similar home victory in the FA Cup this weekend.
