Zenit back in for Skrtel

Zenit St Petersburg have once again revived their interest in re-signing defender Martin Skrtel from Liverpool, according to the Mirror.

The Slovakia international was linked with a move away from Anfield during the summer, only for him to remain on Merseyside.

He has played in the Reds last five Premier League games, helping them to second in the Premier League ahead of the international break, where he has linked up with his international teammates for the World Cup qualifiers against Greece and Latvia.

The Russian Premier League leaders sold the 28 year old to Liverpool back in 2008, and the centre-back has since made over 200 appearances, with arguably his finest moment coming in the 2012 League Cup final against Cardiff City, where he fired in an equaliser to take the game to extra time; the Reds eventually winning on penalties.

He is set to win his 64th cap tomorrow in Piraeus evening, and is priced at 18/1 to score at anytime.
