AC Milan lock down another Maldini

Once Paolo Maldini ended his career about a decade ago, there was always the talk about when the next Maldini will arrive at AC Milan. As Paolo took into the steps of his father Cesare, there was the expectation how interesting would be to see the third Maldini. And now that is happening!

Cesare Maldini was a legendary AC Milan player and Italy national team coach, whilst his son Paolo was imperious at left-back and centre-back. Now Daniel Maldini has signed a contract with the Rossoneri which will keep him at the club until June 2024, signing a five-year deal.

It is interesting that the 18-year-old Maldini is an attacking midfielder playing for Milan’s U-19 side. Also, he signed the contract alongside his father Paolo, who is also the club director. Maldini junior is obviously seen as the first-team prospect, after scoring 10 goals in 26 matches in Primavera during the previous season.
