Zenit St Petersburg manager Dick Advocaat may make a move for Rangers skipper Barry Ferguson this summer. The Dutchman revealed this in an interview with BBC Scotland.

“Our central midfielder Anatoliy Tymoschuk will go to Bayern Munich in May/June. So if the players in my selection cannot fill in that position, then I have to buy one and Ferguson is definitely a candidate,” Advocaat explained.

“Everybody knows what I think about Ferguson. He’s a top player.”

The 31-year-old Ferguson has spent most of his career at Rangers, with a stint at Blackburn Rovers from 2003 to 2005. The midfielder also earned 44 caps with the Scotttish national side.
