Albion reject West Ham bid for Scotland star Dorrans

West Bromwich Albion rejected West Ham’s four million pounds (6.1 million dollar) bid to sign Scotland midfielder Graham Dorrans on Tuesday.

Dorrans played a key role in Albion’s successful Championship promotion push this season and was voted the second best player outside the English top flight at the recent Football League Awards.

The 22-year-old scored 17 goals as Roberto Di Matteo’s team secured the second automatic promotion spot in the Championship just a year after being relegated from the Premier League.

Several top-flight clubs had been linked with a move for Dorrans and West Ham are the first to make an official written approach.

But Baggies chairman Jeremy Peace insists he is not for sale and he said: “As I have stressed several times since we achieved promotion over two weeks ago, our aim now is to retain our core players and try to strengthen our squad around them.

“I want to make it clear again that Graham Dorrans is not for sale.”
