Arda Turan wants EPL move

The agent of Atletico Madrid midfielder Arda Turan, Ahmet Bulut, has revealed the player wants to leave the Estadio Vicente Calderón this summer.

The agent of Atletico Madrid midfielder Arda Turan, Ahmet Bulut, has revealed the player wants to leave the Estadio Vicente Calderón this summer.

The Turkey international, who joined Atletico from Galatasaray for €12 million in the summer of 2011, is attracting interest from three English Premier League clubs and AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain.

“His intention is to leave Spain this summer,” Bulut told AS. “His will is to leave and to play in the Premier League, that is the path he would like to take to continue his career.

“We are currently in talks with three teams but I cannot reveal the names of the clubs. However, I can tell you that they are the best in England and in European football.”

Bulut added: “It’s true that Milan and PSG are two of the six teams that are interested in him,” Bulut said. “But the Italian team is not among our options because they will not play in the Champions League next season.

“PSG is a possibility although Arda always has the desire to play in England.”

Turan, whose current deal at the Estadio Vicente Calderón will expire in the summer of 2017, tallied two goals and four assists in 32 La Liga appearances for Atletico last season.

Taylor praises Liverpool transfer policy

Former England Under-21 manager Peter Taylor has praised Liverpool’s transfer policy this summer.

The Reds, having already signed the likes of Adam Bogdan, Danny Ings, James Milner and Joe Gomez this summer, confirmed the signing of Brazil international forward Roberto Firmino, for a reported fee of £21.3 million, from Hoffenheim on Wednesday.

“Whenever I’ve had success at clubs, we’ve got them in early, which means the first day of pre-season everyone is there.

“But you can only do that if you’re sure what you’re going to sign. If you have any doubts you don’t go to early.

“But if you have got the targets, all agreed on the targets and can get them straight away, I think it’s good business to get it done early.

“At that level, if you’re Liverpool, you don’t worry about paying summer wages, it helps you have a good start for the following season.”

Liverpool are priced at 33/1 to win the Premier League title in 2015/16.

In other news, Juventus have announced the permanent capture of Argentina international midfielder Roberto Maximiliano Pereyra from Udinese for €14 million.

The transfer fee could rise to €15.5 million if Pereyra achieves certain targets by the summer of 2020.
