Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain could be making a swap this summer, but it will not include Neymar in it. As the most prolonged saga is still happening, this story is about Alphonse Areola and Keylor Navas. As Spanish RMC Sport are reporting, Areola is set to join Real Madrid before the end of the transfer window, while Keylor Navas could go the other way.
The same source suggests that this might not be a typical swap, but rather two separated deals regarding two players from the same position. PSG’s goalkeeper could arrive in Madrid to be a competition for Thibaut Courtois while Navas would go to Paris and take the responsibility of being team’s first goalkeeper. RMC Sport also claim Areola will most probably join Real Madrid on a season-long loan and leave his boyhood club.
Therefore, that would leave the space open for Navas to go in the opposite direction, as he is already behind Courtois in the pecking order.
