Arsenal and Everton eye Roger Ibanez

Arsenal are interested in signing Roger Ibanez from Atalanta in the January transfer window, according to CalcioMercato. It has been reported by the Italian news outlet that Everton and Leicester City are also looking to sign the 22-year-old central defender, but the Gunners have already made a request for the Brazil Under-23 international.

Ibanez is on loan at AS Roma from Serie A rivals Atalanta at the moment. The youngster has made 14 appearances in Serie A and has played twice in the Europa League for Roma so far this season, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.

The Atalanta-owned central defender is in good form at the moment and has established himself as an important player for Roma. The Rome-based club may not be willing to let go of the youngster in the middle of the season, but a big offer from Arsenal could be tempting for his parent club Atalanta.
