Arsenal and Wolves interested in Valencia striker Maxi Gomez

Arsenal and Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in signing Maxi Gomez from Valencia in the January transfer window, according to The Daily Mail. It has been reported that although the striker has a release clause of £125 million, the Spanish club could sell him for less.

Gomez joined Valencia from Celta de Vigo in the summer of 2019. According to WhoScored, the 24-year-old striker has scored three goals in 10 La Liga appearances for Los Che so far this season. During the 2019-20 campaign, Gomez made 25 starts and eight substitute appearances in the league for Valencia, scoring 10 goals and providing two assists in the process, and also gave one assist in six Champions League matches, according to WhoScored.

Valencia are 13th in the La Liga table at the moment with 13 points from 12 matches, just two points above the relegation zone. Meanwhile, Arsenal currently find themselves 15th in the Premier League table with 13 points from 11 games, while Wolves are 10th in the standings with 17 points from 11 matches.
