Arsenal keen to secure Charlie Patino future amid reports of interest

The contract of Charlie Patino at Arsenal was due to expire at the end of this season, but the club had the option of triggering a two-year extension on the same terms which, according to Charles Watts of Goal.com, they’ve just done. The 19-year-old is now tied to the Gunners until the summer of 2025.

Patino has been one of the standout names in the Arsenal academy lately, and the club are keen to make sure his future lies at the Emirates, despite strong interest in his services from a number of potential suitors.

Primarily a central, box-to-box midfielder, Patino is versatile enough to perform well further up as a No. 10, or deeper as a ‘6’, providing protection for the back line. At the start of the season, he joined Blackpool on a season-long loan to get some valuable game-time at senior level, and he has so far made 18 appearances for them, 14 of which were Championship starts. He has two goals and two assists for his temporary club so far.
