Atletico Madrid have been making a lot of transfers for attacking players and it looks like they still have not found the right solutions for their needs. Los Colchoneros have been signing players like Thomas Lemar and others to feature on their wings, but now another winger might be coming in.
According to Sport, Atleti have emerged as an option for AC Milan winger Samu Castillejo in the January transfer window. Castillejo has not been doing well in Italy since he arrived and he could be close to a return to his native Spain. He used to play for Villarreal as a wideman and he did very well back then, but this season he only started four matches at AC Milan. Therefore, he is set to depart San Siro and all sides would be happy with that.
Espanyol have opened talks regarding a loan deal until the end of the season, but Atleti are also monitoring the situation and could swoop in.
