Barcelona only signed Malcom from Bordeaux last year for a reported sum of €41 million, but they are apparently ready to move him on after only 12 months.
According to Marca, the 22-year-old winger is set to leave Camp Nou this summer, but the Catalans aren’t prepared to let him go on a cheap. The sum they now demand for his services, despite him not having a place in the team, is €70 million.
Back in January, head coach Ernesto Valverde spoke about the situation, comparing it to that of Denis Suarez, who has since joined Arsenal on a half-season loan, with the north Londoners given the option of making the deal permanent afterwards. He said he wants all his players, not just Malcom, to show their values on the pitch. However, it seems the young Brazilian has fallen short of requirements somewhere along the line and is set to continue his career elsewhere.
The set price may seem high at the moment, but Marca believe it will go down as the transfer window approaches.
