Barcelona put Newcastle target Philippe Coutinho on the market

Barcelona want to get rid of Newcastle United target Philippe Coutinho in the January transfer window, according to Sport. It has been reported by the Spanish publication that Barcelona are ready to accept a loan deal for the former Liverpool attacking midfielder with an obligation to make it permanent.

La Liga giants Barcelona wanted to sell the 29-year-old, who can also operate as a winger, in the summer transfer window, but Ronald Koeman wanted him in the team. However, Koeman was recently sacked as the Barca head coach, with club legend Xavi likely to take over.

Newcastle have been linked with Coutinho, but it remains to be seen if the Brazil international creative player would be willing to join a team who are in real danger of going down to the Championship at the end of the season.
