Bayer Leverkusen came back from behind to win their opening match of the Europa League campaign at the BayArena on Thursday, with Exequiel Palacios and Florian Wirtz overturning the lead given early to the visitors by Ryan Mmaee.

After the match, the players of the home team felt it necessary to thank the fans in the stadium for their support.
