Big pay rise for Havertz at Leverkusen

Kai Havertz is one of the most sought after players in world football and it is not a surprise, considering his performances for Bayer Leverkusen last season. The midfielder has been linked with a move away from his current club throughout the summer, but now media in Germany are reporting the player got a big pay rise from Leverkusen to stay at the club for this season.

According to Sport BILD, Havertz had his annual salary more than doubled during the summer. It was obvious to Leverkusen they would not be able to hold on to the player for much longer, but they were serious about keeping him for at least the 2019-20 season. And they did so by bringing his salary from 2 million euros per season to 5 million euros per season!

The 20-year-old Germany international is being looked at by Bayern Munich, PSG, Real Madrid and Barcelona and Leverkusen will hope to drive his price next summer as much as possible.
