Bilyaletdinov set for Premiership return

Russian daily newspaper Izvestia reports that Crystal Palace have launched an assault on Spartak Moscow midfielder Diniyar Bilyaletdinov.

The Eagles are reportedly prepared to match Spartak’s €1.5 million asking price, while they are ready to offer the midfielder a two-year deal.

Bilyaletdinov has struggled to prove his worth in Moscow and the club officials are eager to get rid of one of their highest earners this summer.

The 29-year-old will probably jump at the opportunity to return to English Premier League, having spent two and a half years with Everton.

Bilyaletdinov enjoyed some good times at Goodison Park, making a total of 59 league appearances and scoring 8 goals in the process.

Having struggled for playing time at Spartak, the experienced midfielder joined Anzhi on loan in February and went on to score 2 goals in 11 league matches, but could not help the Dagestan club avoid relegation to the second division.

The question would be why?. He had no pace 5 seasons ago…I cant imagine he’s found any since. He wont track back and, while he has a decent shot in his locker, he couldn’t get past a man or find space to actually unleash it with any frequency.

He cant get a game in the Russian league…that says it all doesn’t it?.
