Bruno Fernandes agrees new Sporting deal

He has been linked with Manchester United and by several media outlets, he was to become the new Man United midfielder. But in the end, all of those stories became unimportant when Bruno Fernandes stayed in Lisbon with the closure of the transfer window.

So now the midfielder has signed a new contract with Sporting, which will see him get a pay rise. According to A Bola, Sporting are trying to warn off January offers for Burno Fernandes by giving him a new deal, but interestingly, the only thing changing in the contract is his salary.

The reports are claiming the 25-year-old has agreed to sign a new contract, which will see his salary raised to €2m per season after tax, but his contract will not be longer than it was until now. It will still run through June 2023, which might not actually do all that much in warning off interested clubs.
