Cantwell to return to Norwich after Bournemouth refuse option

Norwich City’s Todd Cantwell was linked not too long ago with the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal, but his career seems to be going in a direction he surely wouldn’t have wanted at the time. On the last day of January this year, he joined Bournemouth on loan with an option to buy, but as revealed by Norwich boss Dean Smith, the Cherries have decided not to take up the option and Cantwell is now expected back at the parent club for the upcoming pre-season.

Of the 18 Championship matches Bournemouth have played since his arrival, Cantwell started only eight.

The 24-year-old midfielder is a product of the academy at Norwich, and apart from his current loan at the Vitality Stadium, he spent six months in Netherlands playing for Fortuna Sittard back in his Under-23 days. At the end of this season, he will have 12 months left on his contract with the Canaries.
