Cardiff keen to keep hold of Mutch

Cardiff City have denied that they have received an approach from Sunderland for midfielder Jordan Mutch, according to Sky Sports.

The South Wales side are keen to hold on to their star players despite their relegation to the Championship as they look to bounce straight back to the top flight.

However, Sunderland are currently leading the race to secure his services with an offer already on the table.

Mutch finished the season as the Bluebirds top scorer in the Premier League with seven goals in thirty-five appearances though he was unable to help his side avoid an immediate return to the second tier.

The 22 year old joined Cardiff from Birmingham City in the summer of 2012 after failing to hold down a first team place with the West Midlands club, while he has also turned out for Hereford United, Doncaster Rovers and Watford in various loan spells.

Internationally, he has been capped at every level for England for U17s through to U21s.
